"Male Drow Pinup", 2.5 hrs. Photoshop

It felt weird not to post the male after having already posted the female Drow here, so here we are!
Following up last night's female Drow pinup with a male! Posing in front of a manly crystal formation! Looks like the flail-wielding lady from last night's drawing did a number on him, perhaps.
My powers of creating armor and weapon design failed me here. Just couldn't get into a groove on this one! I think I was far too distracted drawing man back muscles instead. Mmm so many lovely subtle planes in the back. It's always been a particular anatomical area I love to draw, especially on guys! There's something inherently sexy about a muscly back too that made me want to feature it more prominently for a pinup pose.
I pondered on the subject of the male gaze while I was working on this one. I've always thought male pinups just look dopey the way they directly confront the viewer. It's like "Hey. Lookit meee! I'm sexy. Really I am!"
Pfft, screw that! Give me a man who's sexy without even trying. He'll look at you and be like "F**k off, I'm busy doing MANLY things." He KNOWS he looks good so he doesn't even have to try to taunt you with fancy gazes and posing. All he has to do is toss a jacket over his shoulder and walk ON, brother!
Okaay...and now it's obviously time for bed! XD

in fact i find most of ur description funny, inadvertantly or not. from the 'man back muscles' to the pinup gaze thing. (maybe lacking sleep makes u funny. huhu.)
well, i find that true for both men and women -- who can be sexy without trying too hard. i mean we all gotta try to some extent (except for Johnny Depp. and Shakira. and Slash. and Kat von D, and....ok i won't drag out my whole list) but the trick is always to make it look like you ain't.
anyway what ARE Drows? from ur drawings we shall just assume they are silver-haired leather-wearing sex machines. a description i am perfectly pleased with.
