The completed commission for Michael a LaFlamme of his characters Tala and Oug. Oug, the man standing behind her in the reflection, was trapped in the cat's body by the curse of a chaotic god. Read Michael's Blacksent for more info.
I worked months..MONTHS! And now my life shall be empty without grass to color. Time to finish other commissions and trades
The bg and all the grass is jsut stunning! I am so amazed!
the work definately shows =3 I am really impressed. I think the water could have looked a bit more... uh.. watery (for lack of a better word?) like maybe a blue ish hue to it. or something .
but it looks awesome for sure1 you should be really proud of yourself!
Yeah...I was going for the pond lake...dirty water..nasty look since it's a natural body of water....is it too soupy?
I am really proud of thisO_O If only because it's taken so long and that's the most detail I've done in a picture since Uriel. ...it's DONE ..WEEE! *throws a party*

I think it looks a bit metalic even.. maybe soupy... I have no descriptive words in my vocab right now apparently XD.... cuz of the greyishness of it. maybe some browns and greens some kinda earth tones to it. a light colouring over the reflection too maybe. it doesnt seem to blend well.. seems quite seperate. its not at all bad. but you know XD I jsut like to nit pick and stuff =3 haha! makes me feel useful XD
it is really stunning 0_o I am really impressed. it all looks like its done at once too, the grass all goes in the same direction and its al lthe same level of tone. when i do omething that detailed the seperate days are told by the seperate types of grass texture XD
o___o wow....you know the first thing that caught my eye?
The grass. It's absolutely vibrant!!! It has such a soft and inviting texture, and looks very realistic. All that time you spent on that grass truly paid off - it looks magnificent.
As for other amazing points - the texture and shading/highlights of the purple dress are remarkable. Also, the depth you gave to the piece is very good. The way it gets darker as you go into the forest behind is striking, paired with the highlights of the light on the grass. Very good work on the 'reflections', as well.
And the trees...so smooth.
Very excellent. All the time you put into this truly was used well.
Beautifully done, m'dear! The colors are so rich, and your hard work on that grass really paid off, it looks really lovely. The color is very uniform (varied... but not splotchy and badly colored I mean) and it looks so soft. The forest looks really good, I love the soft deep color where the trees begin to fade into general forest darkness, it's a great tone. The trees look wonderfully textured, excellent work on the bark. The grass almost overshadows the beautiful coloring on the figures (and reflections...) themselves, but I just love that dress, and it always draws my eye more than anything. The color and richness of it is lovely. I love the soft sheen to the bull rushes and the lillies, it brings a really sense of life to them.
I'm a little sad that depth to the water from the lineart isn't as clear now. I liked the articulation you had below the surface, but there's enough going on that it would probably be lost if the lines were still clearly there (or are they and are they lost on me anyway?). I think though that the reflection should be a bit softer in the water. The water around it has a fairly pale (pondy, as you said) tone to it, so that the vividness of the reflection seems a little out of place (mainly around their heads, the lower half of the reflection blends quite nicely). I would think it would be more pale and along the same hue as the water around it. I also wouldn't mind seeing a few faint green or blue tones (as guru said) in the water just to give it a bit of depth... like a faint hue below the surface, as well as a few faintly brighter spots in the water. Just little fine flashes of white (or something light) to show how it would reflect the light around it, even if it's still. A few bright spots on the dragonflies too, they look a little flat.
I'd love to see this up close, there's so much detail and you've put so much work into it. I really love the texture of the bank on the edge of the water, it's a really neat detail. The leaves of the trees are wonderful as well, detailed but they also form a sort of comfortable haze of green to give a sense of the volume of the forest without implying each leaf. And I don't quite know whether it's intended or just my late night eyes, but I find it neat how her dress seems to reflect faintly in the water on her own reflection, the color of it I mean. Or maybe it's just supposed to be the same and my eyes are blurring the colors into the pond water o_0

Everything, that is, except the water. I believe guruubii has already said what I wanted to say, so, yeah...
But I can see that you've spent alot of time on this one, me, I'll lose focus very easily if I don't finish something this huge quickly.
Well done, a masterpiece!
And am I invited to the party?
