A merry christmas, happy birthday, and new year to =kdeln! You've provided me with years of friendship and support and have always given me an inspiring word of wisdom. I finally got to draw Alkaia for you! (Or at least finish a picture of her) Rather than show her in her half-elvish form, I went the human route as I know you've been writing a novel involving her as a 'normal' person. I wonder if she still plays violin in it?

This image was colored on parchment cardstock which doesn't allow for too many layers. Also, I used a shortcut and printed the image instead of using transfer paper and it worked quite nicely! The border treatment was done with a calligraphy marker and copic marker. The rest is prismacolor color pencil.

8.5x11 inches, cardstock paper, prismacolor color pencil, copic marker.

With a little help from ~Buggy-Stock at [link]

She's so lovely! I really like the intense, concentrating expression on her face, and the angle of her arms makes the image seem a little more dynamic than the pose necessarily is. (Er, if that makes sense...)

The face, the hands, the posture, and the sense of movement are all great here. I'm particularly fond of the face, as it's tough to draw someone concentrating in a downward angle like that and her pursed lips make it feel like she's really focused on what she's doing. Great work.

I like this its very dramatic. And i like the use of the border. The angle of the body is great I just wish I could hear the music she was playing x x x

I imagine it'd be something with those deep dramatic strings^^ I'm happy to hear that border isn't TOO glaring. I was a afraid I'd ruined it when I put that intense marker on there!
